The problem
I run several ventures at once. I can't personally do GTM, content, engineering, DevOps, finance and vendor ops every single day — but handing it to ungoverned AI agents risks runaway spend, off-brand output, and actions I never sanctioned. I wanted agents that act on my behalf at the quality I'd ship myself.
What I built
I architected an "AI CEO" that reads a single brief, decides the next move, and dispatches a roster of specialist agents: GTM, marketing, copy, design, engineering, DevOps, security, QA, research, legal, HR, supply chain, finance and vendor/customer comms. Each has the context and tools to do real work. On top sits an "AI COO" discipline layer: per-month budget caps with a fail-closed spend breaker, 48–72h response SLAs, security and compliance gates, and human-in-the-loop sign-off before anything ships, sends or spends. Persistent memory carries decisions, preferences and prior work across sessions, so it gets sharper over time.
The outcome
It runs every day, takes and logs hundreds of decisions, asks me only on the exceptions, and produces real work at the bar I would set myself: sites, copy, deploys, vendor drafts. Every action is auditable. Proven on SFHL's own ventures first, it is now piloting with enterprises as Helix.
Why it works
Agents are easy to start and hard to trust. The real work was the governance: budgets, gates and human sign-off, built like an accountable team, so it can actually be left to run.
